2022.01.25 20:56 ashesgreyyy Help! Landlord is attempting to charge an additional month of rent outside of our lease terms, after we've moved out, despite move out notice
Hello! My domestic partner and I are currently in the process of moving apartments. We had not anticipated moving at the end of our lease term, as we have enjoyed our time here, however a surprise rent increase of over one hundred dollars was what prompted this decision. We did not receive the letter notifying us of this change and requesting our response until December 3, 2021, and were surprised to read in that same letter that they required a response by December 1, 2021 (60 days prior to the date our lease ends, January 31, 2022), which upon receiving this notice, was a date already in the past.
The letter appears to have been written on November 29, 2021, so they sent the letter only two business days before the date they required a mailed response by. Knowing this could result in a messy situation, we immediately sent the letter back, and we also sent an immediate email to our landlord that night explaining the situation and notifying him of our response, a scanned copy of the letter, and a screenshot of our USPS summary showing that we hadn’t received the letter until 12/3. We never got a response from the landlord until the property management emailed us a few weeks later and said that they received our response too late, and that they still required payment for the month of February. We emailed back and forth about this a couple of times, in which we were firm in presenting that it would have been completely impossible to send our response back any sooner than we did, that we have done everything in our power to uphold all the requirements, and that we will not be able to pay for the month of February as we will no longer be occupying the unit and will have to pay rent and our deposit in our new home. Since then, they had stopped responding, until today, when they sent us an invoice for February's rent.
I pointed out to them as well that our lease states “Landlord may increase the rent or change any other term of the Lease for any renewal period by sending written notice to Tenant. Landlord must send this notice at least 60 days before the end of the Term or of any renewal term. Tenant may reject the renewal terms by sending written notice to Landlord by certified mail, return receipt requested, within 14 days of the date of Landlord’s renewal notice.”
Our response was well within the 14 days listed. While I'm not trained in understanding the legality of this, the situation seems incredibly unfair, as we literally had no way of doing anything differently, and we can't afford to pay an entire month of rent for an apartment we will not be living in. If anyone could offer me some insight on what footing I may have, or how to proceed, I would sincerely appreciate it! I didn't want to make this initial post too lengthy, but I can provide additional details if needed. I live in Philadelphia, PA.

Looks like this:
Dose: 600-900mg Pregabalin Schedule: Every other day Duration: 2 weeks Break: 1 week Repeat.
I’ve done this cycle once so far and my week off was not bad at all and progressively got better by the day. I relied on Delta 8 and Hydroxyzine to sleep as that’s been an issue long before Pregabalin hit my radar.
How sustainable is this? I’m considering continuing and after 2 months take an extra week or two off.

Look at my life…. I’ll take any slop I can get. The video episode isn’t on YouTube but it’s on Spotify. Have never consumed her content before but surprisingly wasn’t horrible. Laugh was painful but she had a good sense of humor and knew what the deal was. I was pleasantly surprised. Understood Tim’s comedic genius Aspergers way more than Midget boy Portnoy did when he went on that BFF pod or whatever.
Either way it’s worth the listen if you’re craving some Timmy boy content. Wasn’t awful by any means IMO.
Oh, and it’s prob cause he’s with two teenage chicks but Tim was super gay in the episode with his lingo and mannerisms. Man’s was in his element! Loved it.

I have a computer science degree and I’ve worked on web/phone apps as well as simple terminal apps that just implement various algorithms,I’ve made a compiler for a class before and I’ve even made the Asteroids game completely in Java before. All of those things have made sense to me and I’m frustrated because nothing about programming games in unreal or unity makes any sense to me. So I’m curious to hear about when game dev “clicked” for you guys. Or any epiphanies that came to you while on your journeys.
